Caneni uses AI Oversight Evidence (AOE) to mean a structured, timestamped record that supports later examination of what a human reviewed, limited, and accepted in an AI-assisted decision.
Two Meanings of Evidence
Evidence about AI oversight: studies showing how AI monitoring changes human behavior, errors, incentives, or automation bias.
AI Oversight Evidence: a record created around a specific decision, showing what the human judgment layer looked like at the time.
Both meanings matter. Caneni is concerned with the second one: not whether oversight works in general, but whether this consequential decision left a reviewable human record.
What It Records
Why Logs Are Not Enough
An AI audit log can show inputs, outputs, confidence scores, and actions. A workflow log can show that someone clicked approve.
A click records a transaction. AI Oversight Evidence supports examination of the human judgment behind it.

Article 14 Context
EU AI Act Article 14 is a relevant use context because it concerns human oversight for high-risk AI systems. Caneni does not claim that Article 14 requires Caneni, or that a Caneni record automatically satisfies any legal duty.
Caneni frames the evidence layer: how human oversight can be made more visible, reviewable, and attributable when an AI-assisted decision is later questioned.
